Gold climbs Rs 200 to Rs 99,400/10 gm amid renewed concerns over US-China standoff

New Delhi, Apr 24 (PTI) Gold prices climbed Rs 200 to Rs 99,400 per 10 grams in the national capital on Thursday following fresh buying by stockists and jewellers and a weak dollar, according to the All India Sarafa Association. The precious metal of 99.9 per cent purity took a U-turn from the historic Rs 1 lakh-mark and declined Rs 2,400 to Rs 99,200 per 10 gram on Wednesday. Railway probe reveals officials forcing loco pilots to overwork, manipulate working hours

New Delhi, Apr 24 (PTI) A probe conducted by the South Central Railway on the working hours of loco pilots has revealed that the crew officials forced loco pilots to work for 13-15 hours compromising safety of train operations. According to the norms, a loco pilot can’t be asked to work more than 11 hours at a stretch. Mumbai, Apr 24 (PTI) Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty ended lower on Thursday amid profit-taking after a seven-day rally and disappointing earnings from Hindustan Unilever. Mumbai, Apr 16 (PTI) The rupee sustained its rally for the third straight session and settled with a gain of 16 paise at 85.64 against the US dollar on Wednesday, boosted by the renewed inflow of foreign funds and a weak American currency. Positive domestic macroeconomic numbers amid the 90-day pause on US reciprocal tariffs triggered a buying rush in equities, strengthening the local currency, according to forex traders.
