Mumbai, May 13 (PTI) Stock markets tumbled on Tuesday with benchmark Sensex falling by 1,282 points due to profit-taking in IT and FMCG shares a day after a record rally. The 30-share BSE barometer tanked 1,281.68 points or 1.55 per cent to settle at 81,148.22 with 25 of its constituents closing with losses and five with gains. During the day, it fell sharply by 1,386.21 points or 1.68 per cent to 81,043.69. The broader Nifty of NSE dropped 346.35 points or 1.39 per cent to 24,578.35. Rupee gains 3 paise to settle at 85.33 against US dollar

Mumbai, May 13 (PTI) The rupee pared most of its initial gains to settle 3 paise higher at 85.33 (provisional) against the American currency on Tuesday, due to rising appetite for riskier assets amid easing trade tariff tensions. However, rising crude oil prices, a strong US dollar and the emergence of profit booking in domestic equities restricted the rise of the domestic unit, traders said. New Delhi, May 13 (PTI) Genetics may not solely explain the biology which cause different health risks, symptoms and outcomes between men and women — social factors such as neighbourhood and lifestyle too need to be looked at, according to a study. The research, led by Queen Mary University, UK, analysed genetic links between nearly 6,000 proteins and diseases in 56,000 people.
