ED arrests ex-Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel’s son in liquor ‘scam’ case

Raipur, Jul 18 (PTI) The ED (Enforcement Directorate) on Friday arrested Chaitnaya Baghel, son of former Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, in an alleged liquor scam linked money laundering case, official sources said. He was taken into custody under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) after fresh raids were carried out at his home in Bhilai town in Durg district. The father-son duo reside at the same place. New Delhi, Jul 18 (PTI) Gold prices rose Rs 100 to Rs 98,770 per 10 grams in the national capital on Friday amid a firm trend in the international markets, according to the All India Sarafa Association. On Thursday, the precious metal of 99.9 per cent purity had closed at Rs 98,670 per 10 grams. Mumbai, Jul 18 (PTI) The rupee gave up initial gains to settle 4 paise lower at 86.16 (provisional) against the US dollar on Friday, dragged by foreign fund outflows, rising global crude oil prices and a steep decline in domestic equity markets.
