Rupee rises 3 paise to 88.72 against dollar in early trade

Mumbai, Sep 30 (PTI) The rupee rose 3 paise to 88.72 against the US dollar in early trade on Tuesday on the back of a fall in crude oil prices and positive sentiments in the domestic equity markets. However, a marginally stronger greenback, coupled with FII outflows, prevented sharper gains in the local unit, according to forex traders. They added that the markets are awaiting the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI’s) Monetary Policy Committee decision, which will be announced on Wednesday. New Delhi, Sep 29 (PTI) Silver prices on Monday soared by Rs 7,000 to hit an all-time high of Rs 1.5 lakh per kilogram in the national capital, while gold also scaled a new peak of Rs 1,19,500 per 10 grams amid strong global trends, according to the All India Sarafa Association.
