Stock markets end marginally higher after volatile day of trading

Mumbai, Feb 25 (PTI) Benchmark equity indices Sensex and Nifty ended marginally higher on Wednesday, trimming most of their sharp intra-day gains, amid profit-taking. After a volatile day of trading, the 30-share BSE Sensex ended 50.15 points or 0.06 per cent higher at 82,276.07. During the day, it jumped 731.99 points or 0.89 per cent to 82,957.91. The 50-share NSE Nifty went up by 57.85 points or 0.23 per cent to settle at 25,482.50. New York, Feb 25 (PTI) American tech entrepreneur Bill Gates has apologised to the staff at the Gates Foundation over his ties with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein but maintained that he did “nothing illicit,” according to a media report. Even lower levels of artery-clogging plaque may cause heart attack risk in women, finds study

New Delhi, Feb 24 (PTI) Women may develop a risk of heart attack even at lower levels of plaque deposition in the arteries, according to a study. Women are known to typically have lower amounts of artery-clogging plaque compared to men. However, researchers, including those from Harvard Medical School in the US, said it is unknown how difference in plaque levels impacts one’s risk of a major adverse cardiovascular event. “Our findings underscore that women are not ‘protected’ from coronary events despite having lower plaque volumes,” senior author Borek Foldyna, an assistant professor of radiology at Harvard Medical School said.
