LONDON, Jan 9 (Reuters) – Despite Denmark’s repeated insistence that Greenland is not for sale, U.S. President Donald Trump and his team are “talking about what a potential purchase would look like”, according to a White House spokeswoman this week. But even as a thought experiment that assumes the presence of a willing seller, discussion of the hypothetical sale of an autonomous territory such as Greenland rapidly encounters imponderables such as how a meaningful price tag could even be established. “There’s not a market for buying and selling countries,” said Nick Kounis, chief economist of Dutch ABN AMRO bank, noting

Jan 9 (Reuters) – India’s markets regulator on Friday eased compliance requirements and exempted smaller brokers from rules for technical glitches at brokerages. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) said the streamlined framework will exclude stock brokers with fewer than 10,000 registered clients from compliance. Trade talks between India and the U.S. fell apart and Trump then doubled tariffs on Indian goods in August to 50%, the world’s highest rate, including a levy of 25% in retaliation for India’s purchases of Russian oil. “It’s all set up and you have got to have
