Gold slips Rs 150, silver drops Rs 5,000 as strong US dollar dents bullion demand

New Delhi, Jul 6 (PTI) Gold prices slipped Rs 150 to Rs 1,50,650 per 10 grams in the national capital on Monday, and silver dropped Rs 5,000, as a sluggish global trend and a firm US dollar prompted traders to trim positions in precious metals. The precious metal of 99.9 per cent purity had closed at Rs 1,50,800 per 10 grams in the preceding session. Silver snapped its four-day rally, declining Rs 5,000 to Rs 2,40,000 per kilogram (inclusive of all taxes) from Friday’s closing level of Rs 2,45,000 per kg, according to local dealers. SRINAGAR, India, July 6 (Reuters) – India’s anti-terrorism agency said it filed charges on Monday against Hafiz Saeed, ​founder of Pakistan-based Islamist militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), over ‌an attack on tourists in Indian Kashmir last year that triggered a conflict with Pakistan. Mumbai, Jul 6 (PTI) The rupee depreciated 20 paise to close at 95.38 (provisional) against the US dollar on Monday, as a strengthening greenback weighed on emerging market currencies. At the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened at 95.25 against the American currency and traded in a range of 95.22-95.48 during the session. The rupee finally closed at 95.38 (provisional), down 20 paise from its previous close.
