New Delhi, Mar 8 (PTI) The Delhi Police on Friday suspended a sub-inspector for allegedly kicking a few people offering namaz on a road in north Delhi’s Inderlok area on Friday, police said. The incident happened during the ‘Asar ki namaz’ around 2 pm near Inderlok Metro Station. India says it uncovers trafficking racket duping people into fighting for Russia in Ukraine

NEW DELHI, March 8 (Reuters) – India said it had uncovered a “major human trafficking network” which lured young men to Russia with the promise of jobs only to force them to fight in the war in Ukraine. CAIRO, March 8, 2024 (AP) — Over 230 million women and girls have undergone female genital mutilation, most of whom live in Africa, according to a report issued on Friday by the United Nations children’s agency. In the last eight years, some 30 million people have undergone the procedure, in which external genitalia are partially or fully removed, UNICEF estimated in the report, which was released on International Women’s Day. The percentage of women and girls who experience female genital mutilation is declining, UNICEF said, but it warned that efforts to eradicate the practice are too slow to keep up
