Mumbai, Jun 20 (PTI) Rupee rose 13 paise to 86.60 against the US dollar in early trade on Friday over a decline in global crude oil prices and a weakening greenback. The rupee had lost 30 paise to close at an over two-month low of 86.73 against the US dollar on Thursday, logging a combined loss of 69 paise during the past three sessions. Kolkata, Jun 20 (PTI) Suman Chakraborty, the Institute Chair Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department of IIT Kharagpur, and Sir J C Bose National Fellow of the Department of Science and Technology, has been appointed the director of IIT Kharagpur, the institute said in a statement on Friday night. New Delhi, Jun 18 (PTI) Silver prices rallied Rs 1,000 to hit a record high of Rs 1,08,200 per kilogram while gold gained Rs 540 to stay above Rs 1 lakh per 10 grams in the national capital on Wednesday as the Israel-Iran conflict intensified on its sixth day, driving investors to safe-haven assets. Mumbai, Jun 18 (PTI) The rupee depreciated 13 paise to close at 86.47 (provisional) against the US dollar on Wednesday, dragged down by risk-off sentiments and elevated crude oil prices. Forex traders said the rupee dwindled amid weak domestic equity markets and the broad strength of the dollar.
