Markets trade lower in early deals on profit-taking in blue-chip stocks, foreign fund outflows

Mumbai, Jul 24 (PTI) Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty declined in early trade on Thursday amid profit-taking in blue-chip stocks and continuous foreign fund outflows. Despite a positive start, the 30-share BSE Sensex failed to carry forward the momentum and fell later in the trade. The benchmark declined 130.92 points to 82,595.72 in early trade. The 50-share NSE Nifty dipped 23 points to 25,196.90. New Delhi, Jul 23 (PTI) The Delhi High Court on Wednesday granted anticipatory bail to NewsClick’s founder and editor-in-chief Prabir Purkayastha booked for allegedly receiving money to peddle pro-China propaganda through its stories. New Delhi, Jul 23 (PTI) Silver prices surged by Rs 4,000 to hit a record high of Rs 1,18,000 per kilogram while gold advanced Rs 1,000 in the national capital on Wednesday due to heavy buying by stockists. According to the All India Sarafa Association, gold of 99.9 per cent purity climbed Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,01,020 per 10 grams (inclusive of all taxes).
