The central government has given the green light to the terms of reference (TOR) for the 8th Pay Commission. They have also named Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai, a former Supreme Court judge, as the chairperson of the Commission. Rupee ends flat at 88.69 against US dollar

Mumbai, Oct 31 (PTI) The rupee pared intra-day losses to settle flat at 88.69 (provisional) against the American currency on Friday, as weak domestic equities and a firm US dollar in overseas markets offset the gains from lower crude oil prices.
