Mumbai, Nov 17 (PTI) The rupee declined 6 paise to 88.72 against the US dollar in early trade on Monday amid a firm American currency and relentless outflow of foreign capital. Positive sentiment in domestic equity markets and lower crude oil prices overseas, however, prevented a sharp fall in the Indian currency, forex analysts said. They said investors are also watching the progress on the proposed India-US trade deal as well as the domestic PMI data to be released later this week. At the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened at 88.70 and slipped further to trade at 88.72

New Delhi, Nov 14 (PTI) Gold prices plunged by Rs 1,500 to Rs 1,29,400 per 10 grams in the national capital on Friday tracking weak global trends after comments from Federal Reserve officials indicated that the absence of fresh economic data could delay further rate cuts. The precious metal of 99.5 per cent purity declined by Rs 1,500 to Rs 1,28,800 per 10 grams (inclusive of all taxes) from Thursday’s closing of Rs 1,30,300 per 10 grams, according to the All India Sarafa Association. New Delhi, Nov 14 (PTI) The rupee fell three paise to close at 88.73 (provisional) against the US dollar on Friday, weighed down by the strength of the American currency and rising crude oil prices. Forex traders said a rebound in domestic equities following a sweeping mandate for the ruling alliance in the Bihar polls supported the rupee at lower levels. At the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened at 88.70 against the US dollar. During the day, the domestic unit witnessed an intra-day low of 88.75 against the greenback. The rupee finally settled for the day at 88.73
