New Delhi, Aug 6 (PTI) Gold prices rallied for the third straight session, soaring by Rs 3,800 to a seven-week high of Rs 1.53 lakh per 10 grams in the national capital on Thursday, aided by rupee depreciation and firm global trends. The yellow metal of 99.9 per cent purity climbed Rs 3,800 to Rs 1,53,800 per 10 grams (inclusive of all taxes) from Wednesday’s closing level of Rs 1,50,000 per 10 grams. Mumbai, Aug 6 (PTI) The rupee depreciated 16 paise to close at 95.24 (provisional) against the US dollar on Thursday, on slight gains in the US Dollar Index and a modest increase in US Treasury yields. Forex traders said the rupee was pressured by a slight recovery in the US Dollar Index and foreign fund outflows, even as lower crude oil prices provided some underlying support.
