Gold futures rise to Rs 1.54 lakh/10 gm on spot demand

New Delhi, Aug 11 (PTI) Gold prices on Tuesday rose by Rs 1,501 to Rs 1.54 lakh per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators created fresh positions on a firm spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the yellow metal contracts for October delivery traded higher by Rs 1,501, or 0.98 per cent, at Rs 1,54,600 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 1,332 lots. Fresh positions built up by participants led to a rise in precious metal prices, analysts said. Globally, gold futures increased 0.35 per cent to USD 4,406.15 per ounce in New York.

Stock markets decline in early trade as elevated crude oil prices weigh on sentiment

Mumbai, Aug 11 (PTI) Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty declined in early trade on Tuesday amid elevated crude oil prices due to geopolitical uncertainties. The 30-share BSE Sensex declined 320.14 points to 78,204.40 in early trade. The 50-share NSE Nifty dropped 94.35 points to 24,490.85. US judge dismisses criminal case against Gautam Adani, Sagar Adani

New York/ New Delhi, Aug 11 (PTI) A US court has dismissed with prejudice the criminal charges against Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani and his nephew, bringing to an end nearly two years of proceedings in an alleged fraud and bribery case. The US District Court for the Eastern District of New York granted the Justice Department’s Rule 48(a) motion to dismiss the indictment against Gautam Adani, Sagar Adani and former Adani Green CEO Vneet Jaain.
