While addressing an event in Srinagar on October 2, the party’s Pauri Garhwal unit vice-president allegedly made comments warning people of a particular community to stay away from ‘love jihad’ or their “eyes would be gouged out and shops burned down”. Kolkata, Oct 6 Academics and Bengali identity advocacy groups have hailed the decision of the Centre to accord classical language status to Bengali language expressing hope that it will facilitate in greater use of the language in official communication and examinations. Eminent indologist and linguist Nrisingo Prasad Bhaduri said he hoped that after the honour, at all India level, there will be greater use of the language in competitive examinations, more use of synonyms of familiar English terms in science and economics and present day students will feel encouraged to use these Bengali synonyms in their exams. New Delhi [India], October 3 (ANI): The Union Cabinet on Thursday approved to confer the status of classical language to Marathi, Pali, Prakrit, Assamese, and Bengali languages. The Government of India decided to create a new category of languages as “classical languages” on October 12, 2004, declaring Tamil as a classical language. New Delhi, Oct 3, 2024: Railway employees will receive a bonus equivalent to their 78 days’ salaries ahead of festive season, a move that will benefit more than 11,72,240 non-gazetted staff of the national transporter, the government announced on Thursday. “The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved a Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB), equivalent to 78 days’ wages, for the financial year 2023-24 for all eligible non-gazetted railway employees,” Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said here. The maximum amount payable per eligible railway employee is Rs.17,951/- for 78 days. The above amount will be paid to various categories,
