Stock markets fall for 3rd day; Nifty down 96 points, Sensex slips to 72,480

Mumbai, Sep 30 (PTI) Market benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty ended lower on Wednesday, extending losses for the third straight day, as firm crude oil prices, elevated global bond yields and foreign fund outflows made investors jittery. Giving up all intraday gains, the 30-share BSE Sensex declined 48.78 points, or 0.07 per cent, to settle at 72,480.29 on fag-end selling. Mumbai, Sep 30 (PTI) The rupee appreciated 13 paise to close at 95.81 (provisional) against the US dollar on Wednesday as crude oil prices retreated from their elevated levels and tracking an overnight decline in the US Dollar index.
