New Delhi, Feb 21 (PTI) Early signs of puberty in first-born daughters could be associated with high stress levels their mothers experienced while pregnant, new research has found. Researchers said that they examined adrenal puberty, which is marked by changes like the growth of body hair, pimples and aspects of cognitive maturation, but does not include breast development or the onset of menstruation in girls or testicular enlargement in boys. The team of researchers, led by the University of California – Los Angeles (UCLA), US, said they did not find these correlations between stress levels during pregnancy and early maturation

Iconic radio personality, voice of ‘Geetmala’ Ameen Sayani dies at 91

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], February 21 (ANI): Legendary radio personality Ameen Sayani passed away due to a heart attack late on Tuesday, his son Rajil Sayani confirmed on Wednesday. He was 91. According to Rajil Sayani, the iconic radio presenter suffered a heart attack on Tuesday night, after which he was taken to the HN Reliance Hospital in Mumbai, where he breathed his last. “The doctors at the hospital attended him but couldn’t save him and he was declared dead, ” Rajil said. His funeral will take place on Thursday, as the family is waiting for some relatives to reach Mumbai

JD(U)’s Maheshwar Hazari resigns as Bihar assembly deputy speaker

Patna, Feb 21 (PTI) JD(U) leader Maheshwar Hazari has resigned from the post of deputy speaker of the Bihar assembly, the Vidhan Sabha secretariat said on Wednesday. According to a notification from the secretariat, Hazari’s resignation came into effect from the forenoon of February 21. Hazari, a second-term MLA from the reserved Kalyanpur assembly constituency, had been holding the deputy speaker’s post since March, 2021. It was not immediately known why the senior leader, who was formerly a minister in the Nitish Kumar cabinet, gave up the post.
