New Delhi [India], March 4 (ANI): The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday issued a second summons to Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra in connection with irregularities in a foreign exchange contravention case asking her to join the probe on March 11. The fresh summons followed the earlier one when she skipped the investigation and did not appear before the investigators on February 19. Moitra has been asked to appear before the agency’s headquarters in Delhi with some documents related to some foreign investments. New Delhi, Mar 4 (PTI) MPs and MLAs taking bribes to vote or make a speech in the House are not immune from prosecution, the Supreme Court said on Monday in a landmark, unanimous verdict that overrules its 1998 judgment protecting such lawmakers. Observing that bribery is not protected by parliamentary privileges, a seven-judge constitution bench headed by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud held that a five-judge bench’s interpretation in the 1998 verdict in the JMM bribery case was contrary to Articles 105 and 194 of the Constitution. New Delhi, Mar 3 (PTI): The CBI has arrested a general manager of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in a bribery case involving an amount of Rs 20 lakh in Maharashtra’s Nagpur, officials said on Sunday.
