Physical activity lowers risk of developing heart disease partly by reducing brain activity that gets triggered because of stress, new research has found. This brain activity linked to stress was also lower in people who were more physically active, the study published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology found. The government has likely mopped up over Rs 27,000 crore in taxes from senior citizens on the interest they earned on term deposits last fiscal, researchers at the country’s largest lender SBI said. According to the report by SBI researchers, the total amount of deposits has risen by 143 per cent in the last five years to Rs 34 lakh crore at the end of FY24 from Rs 14 lakh crore. New Delhi: Wholesale inflation in the country rose marginally to 0.53 per cent in March compared to 0.20 per cent in the preceding month due to increase in prices of vegetables, potato, onion and crude oil. The Wholesale Price Index (WPI)-based inflation was in the negative zone from April to October and had turned positive in November at 0.26 per cent.
