Yashu Rustagi, UP cadre IAS officer appointed as Deputy Secretary in DoPT

Yashu Rustagi, a 2012 batch IAS officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre will go on central deputation. She has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training.

New Delhi, Sep 15: Yashu Rustagi, a 2012 batch IAS officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), with four-year tenure on central deputation.

Rustagi is the current Additional Director of the Uttar Pradesh Academy of Administration and Management (UPAM). Previously, she held positions such as DM Shravasti and Director, State Urban Development Agency (SUDA).

The Uttar Pradesh administration has sent her on a central deputation. The state government will relieve her soon because she is due to take over in three weeks.

This decision has been authorised by the appropriate authorities, as stated in an official order issued by the DoPT on September 12, 2023. Ms. Rustagi’s appointment falls under the central staffing scheme and is valid for four years, beginning on the day of her appointment or until new orders are given, whichever comes first.

Yashu Rastogi originally belongs to Faridabad, Haryana. She got training from Varanasi in the year 2013-14. After this, she was posted as Joint Magistrate in Ayodhya, Ghaziabad, Lalitpur and Jhansi respectively. She also held the responsibility as Chief Development Officer in Deoria, Shamli and Mathura.

She was also the Vice President of Mathura Development Authority and Moradabad Development Authority. She also held the post of Special Secretary in the Finance Department.

She was also posted as Assistant Commissioner in the Commercial Tax Department. She also performed duty as Special Secretary in UP Urban Department. She also held the responsibility of Special Secretary in the APC branch of the state government.
