Protesting farmers to meet high-powered committee today, Supreme Court told

New Delhi, Jan 6 (PTI) A delegation of the protesting farmers at the Khanauri border between Punjab and Haryana will be meeting the high-powered committee appointed by the Supreme Court at around 3 pm on Monday. Among the protesting farmers is also septuagenarian Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been on an indefinite fast for the past 40 days, and whose health concerns have kept the Punjab government on its toes with the top court keeping a close watch. New Delhi, Jan 6 (PTI) The Congress on Monday announced a ‘Pyari Didi Yojana’, promising a monthly financial assistance of Rs 2,500 to women if voted to power in Delhi. The scheme would be rolled out on the lines of the model adopted by the Congress government in Karnataka. BENGALURU, Jan 6 (Reuters) – India’s dominant services sector ended 2024 on a high note as sustained demand boosted activity to a four-month high and led to strong hiring in December, while inflationary pressures eased, a survey showed.
