New York/Washington, Apr 1 (PTI) US President Donald Trump said India will be “dropping its tariffs very substantially” as he readies to announce reciprocal tariffs on countries on April 2. “I think a lot of (countries) will drop their tariffs because they’ve been unfairly tariffing the United States for years. If you look at the European Union on cars, the European Union already dropped their tariff to 2.5 per cent. It was announced a couple of days ago. A very small tariff. The United States charged very little,” Trump said while responding to questions in the Oval Office on Monday.

New Delhi, Apr 1 (PTI) Gold prices surged Rs 2,000, the steepest in nearly two months, to hit a fresh peak of Rs 94,150 per 10 grams in the national capital on Tuesday amid persistent buying by stockists and jewellers, according to the All India Sarafa Association. New Delhi, Apr 1 (PTI) Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday asked the government to immediately start the decadal census as well as caste census, saying a large number of people are being left out of welfare schemes due to the delay.
