Mumbai, Apr 4 (PTI) Rupee appreciated 34 paise to 84.96 against the US dollar in early trade on Friday, as the greenback’s broad-based weakness following the impact of Trump’s tariffs offered relief to emerging market currencies, including the rupee. The key catalysts for the rupee’s rebound include the fall in crude oil prices and the weakness of the American currency in the overseas market. Mumbai, Apr 4 (PTI) Benchmark equity indices Sensex and Nifty slumped in initial trade on Friday due to heavy selling in metal, oil & gas shares as President Donald Trump’s sweeping tariff salvo reignited the fears of global trade war. Congress to challenge Waqf bill soon in Supreme Court

New Delhi, Apr 4 (PTI) The Congress on Friday said it will “very soon” challenge in the Supreme Court the constitutionality of the Wakf (Amendment) Bill, 2024 that was passed in Parliament. The Waqf (Amendment) bill was cleared by Parliament early Friday, with the Rajya Sabha giving its nod.
