Stock markets end higher tracking strong global peers, pause in Israel-Iran hostilities

Mumbai, Jun 9 (PTI) Benchmark equity indices Sensex and Nifty ended higher on Tuesday, a day after facing sharp losses, in tandem with a recovery in global markets and easing of hostilities between Israel and Iran. A rally in bank stocks and cooling oil prices also added to the markets’ optimism. The 30-share BSE Sensex climbed 394.50 points, or 0.54 per cent, to settle at 73,918.76. Patna, June 9, 2026: A Patna court on Tuesday granted interim protection from arrest to popular educator Faisal Khan, widely known as Khan Sir, in connection with an FIR registered against him over alleged firing at his coaching institute on June 2.
