New Delhi, May 20 (PTI) Gold prices fell by Rs 490 to Rs 96,540 per 10 grams in the national capital on Tuesday due to weak demand, according to the All India Sarafa Association. The yellow metal of 99.9 per cent purity had closed at Rs 97,030 per 10 grams on Monday. Gold of 99.5 per cent purity depreciated by Rs 450 to Rs 96,130 per 10 grams (inclusive of all taxes). Mumbai, May 20 (PTI) Benchmark stock indices Sensex and Nifty tumbled 1 per cent on Tuesday dragged down by losses blue-chips HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries and ICICI Bank. Rupee falls 21 paise to close at 85.63 against US dollar

Mumbai, May 20 (PTI) The rupee depreciated 21 paise to close at 85.63 (provisional) against the US dollar on Tuesday, on weak domestic markets and a bounce back in US treasury yields. Forex traders said the recent surge in the US 10-year yield reflects mounting concerns over fiscal and monetary policies, driving borrowing costs higher. Markets rebound in early trade tracking firm global trends

Mumbai, May 20 (PTI) Equity Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty rebounded in early trade on Tuesday after two days of decline amid firm trends in global markets and buying in IT stocks. The 30-share BSE benchmark gauge Sensex climbed 191 points to 82,250.42 in early trade after a positive beginning. The NSE Nifty went up by 64.9 points to 25,010.35. From the Sensex firms, Tata Steel, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, ITC, Tata Consultancy Services, Axis Bank, IndusInd Bank and Asian Paints were among the biggest gainers.
