CVC issues fresh guidelines on determining ‘vigilance angle’ in misconduct by govt employees

New Delhi, May 26 (PTI) The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) has issued fresh guidelines to determine “vigilance angle” in cases of misconduct by government employees, including those in public sector banks and insurance companies, officials said on Monday. The move is aimed at ensuring more clarity about the vigilance angle in cases of irregularities and corruption, they said. In a recent master circular, the probity watchdog has enlisted certain misconducts specifically in public sector banks and insurance companies, besides by those officials performing quasi-judicial functions. Gold climbs Rs 550 to Rs 99,300 per 10g, silver rallies Rs 1,170

New Delhi, May 26 (PTI) Gold prices rose by Rs 550 to Rs 99,300 per 10 grams in the national capital on Monday on persistent buying by jewellers and retailers, according to the All India Sarafa Association. The precious metal of 99.9 per cent purity had closed at Rs 98,750 per 10 grams on Friday. Since Wednesday last week, gold prices have risen by Rs 2,760 per 10 grams. Rupee rises 35 paise to settle at 85.10 against US dollar

Mumbai, May 26 (PTI) Rising for the second straight session, the rupee jumped 35 paise to close at 85.10 (provisional) against the US dollar on Monday, buoyed by a positive trend in domestic equity markets and a weak American currency overseas.
