Markets surge in early trade on persistent foreign fund inflows

Mumbai, Apr 29 (PTI) Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty surged in early trade on Tuesday amid persistent foreign fund inflows and easing tariff concerns. The 30-share BSE benchmark gauge jumped 442.94 points to 80,661.31 in early trade. The NSE Nifty rallied 129.15 points to 24,457.65. From the Sensex firms, Tata Motors, Reliance Industries, IndusInd Bank, Bharti Airtel, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Axis Bank were the biggest gainers. MUMBAI, April 29 (Reuters) – The Indian rupee is set to weaken on Tuesday after comments from Pakistan’s defence minister warning of an imminent military incursion by New Delhi raised concerns about a further increase in tensions between the two neighbours.
