DHAKA, Bangladesh, June 6, 2025 (AP) — Bangladesh’s interim leader Muhammad Yunus on Friday said that the country will hold national elections in the first half of April 2026. In a televised address to the nation on Friday, the Nobel Peace Prize laureate said that the Election Commission would roll out a detailed roadmap for the election in due course. Musk’s Starlink gets licence to start India services

New Delhi, Jun 6 (PTI) Elon Musk’s Starlink has received a licence from the telecom department for providing satellite internet services in India, a key milestone that will take it closer towards launching commercial operations in the country. Starlink is the third company after Eutelsat OneWeb and Jio Satellite Communications to get a licence from the Department of Telecommunications to provide satellite internet services in the country. A fourth applicant, Amazon’s Kuiper is still waiting for approvals. Mumbai, Jun 6 (PTI) The rupee pared initial losses and appreciated 11 paise to close at 85.68 (provisional) against the US dollar on Friday, after the Reserve Bank cut repo rate by a higher-than-expected 50 basis points to prop up growth. Forex traders said the rupee traded on a flat-to-positive note as the RBI surprised the market with a jumbo rate cut. Besides, the rate cut supported by a phased 100 basis points CRR reduction will lower the borrowing costs and boost growth.
