Odisha officials go on ‘mass leave’ over assault on colleague; work affected

Bhubaneswar, Jul 2 (PTI) Senior Odisha government officials have gone on a ‘mass leave’ in several districts of the state to protest an alleged incident of assault on an on-duty colleague. The stir by Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) and Odisha Revenue Service (ORS) officers has affected work. Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Additional Commissioner Ratnakar Sahoo was allegedly dragged from his office here and assaulted by a group of miscreants on Monday, police said. Sultanpur (UP), Jul 2 (PTI) An MP-MLA court here on Wednesday adjourned till July 14 hearing in a defamation case against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his alleged objectionable remarks against Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The defamation complaint against Gandhi was filed by BJP leader Vijay Mishra in 2018. Mumbai, Jul 2 (PTI) Days after the Maharashtra government decided to withdraw orders on implementation of the three-language policy, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Wednesday said they will not accept such a policy even in future. Facing mounting opposition to the introduction of Hindi language in Maharashtra schools from classes 1 to 5, the state cabinet on Sunday decided to withdraw two GRs (government orders) on the implementation of the three-language policy.
