Mumbai, Aug 7 (PTI) The rupee traded in a narrow range and appreciated 5 paise to 87.67 against the US dollar in early trade on Thursday, after US President Donald Trump slapped an additional 25 per cent duty — doubling it to 50 per cent — on Indian goods over New Delhi’s continued imports of Russian oil. New Delhi, Aug 7 (PTI) India’s largest IT services company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Wednesday (August 6, 2025) informed employees that it will roll-out wage hikes for about 80% of workforce, covering mid to junior levels. The wage hikes come at a time when TCS is set to lay off about 12,000 employees this year. Aug 7 (Reuters) – Gold rose on Thursday, supported by renewed safe-haven demand after U.S. President Donald Trump slapped an additional 25% tariff on Indian imports, escalating trade frictions. Spot gold was up 0.4% at $3,380.76 per ounce as of 0247 GMT. New Delhi, Aug 7 (PTI) The Election Commission issued a notification on Thursday for the September 9 election to the vice president’s post, kickstarting the nomination process. According to the notification, August 21 is the last date for filing nominations, while the documents will be scrutinised on August 22.
