Stock markets trade flat after sharp rally last week

Mumbai, Sep 15 (PTI) Benchmark equity indices Sensex and Nifty recorded marginal gains in early trade on Monday but later faced highly volatile trends and were quoting flat amid profit-taking after a sharp rally last week. Markets are awaiting outcome of this week’s US Federal Reserve policy meeting. The 30-share BSE Sensex went up by 93.81 points to 81,998.51 in early trade. Mumbai, Sep 15 (PTI) The rupee witnessed range-bound trading in morning deals on Monday and depreciated 4 paise to 88.30 against the US dollar, as tariff-led pressure on India’s exports weighed on investor sentiments. Dehradun, Sep 15 (PTI) The Congress has accused the Uttarakhand government of giving 142 acres of ‘heritage’ land of the George Everest Estate in Mussoorie, worth more than Rs 30,000 crore, to a company linked to yoga guru Ramdev’s aide Acharya Balkrishna on an annual rent of just Rs 1 crore.
