High-fat dairy foods linked to lower risk of dementia: New study

People who regularly ate higher-fat dairy foods had a lower risk of developing dementia over 25 years, while low-fat dairy and other dairy foods showed no clear association, according to a new study. Mumbai, Dec 22 (PTI) Benchmark Sensex jumped by 638 points while the broader Nifty closed above 26,100 on Monday following heavy buying in IT, auto and metal shares amid foreign fund inflows and a rally in global markets on hopes of further rate cuts by the US Federal Reserve. Building on the previous session’s rally, the 30-share BSE Sensex jumped 638.12 points or 0.75 per cent to settle at 85,567.48. During the day, it surged 671.97 points or 0.79 per cent to 85,601.33. New Delhi, Dec 22 (PTI) Gold prices rose to a fresh lifetime high of Rs 1,38,200 per 10 grams, gaining Rs 1,685, in the national capital on Monday following the precious metal scaling record highs in the global markets, according to the All India Sarafa Association. Silver prices also raced to hit an all-time high of Rs 2,14,500 per kilogramme (inclusive of all taxes) in the capital, up by Rs 10,400 per kg. “Bullish momentum extended in bullion, with gold and silver surging to another fresh record high on Monday,” Saumil Gandhi, Senior Analyst – Commodities at HDFC Securities, said.
