Mumbai, Oct 1 (PTI) Equity benchmark indices rebounded sharply on Wednesday after an eight-day slump, with the Sensex jumping 715.69 points, helped by buying in bank and financial stocks after the RBI left key interest rates unchanged and revised upward its growth estimates for the current fiscal to 6.8 per cent. The 30-share BSE Sensex jumped 715.69 points or 0.89 per cent to settle at 80,983.31. During the day, it surged 800.81 points or 0.99 per cent to 81,068.43. New Delhi, Oct 1 (PTI) The rupee recovered 9 paise from its all-time closing low to settle at 88.71 against US dollar on Wednesday, as the Central Bank in its monetary policy decision announced a host of measures to support exporters and bring stability to the domestic unit. New Delhi, Oct 1 (PTI) Gold prices rallied by Rs 1,100 to breach the Rs 1.21 lakh per 10 grams mark in the national capital on Wednesday, tracking firm global cues amid the US government shutdown after Congress failed to approve fresh federal funding. According to the All India Sarafa Association, the precious metal of 99.9 per cent purity jumped Rs 1,100 to hit a fresh peak of Rs 1,21,100 per 10 grams (inclusive of all taxes).
