Rupee rises 11 paise to 89.05 against US dollar in early trade

Mumbai, Nov 25 (PTI) The rupee stayed on the recovery path and gained 11 paise to 89.05 against the US dollar in early trade on Tuesday, supported by lower crude oil prices in the international market. The Indian currency, however, remained under pressure due to a strong greenback, subdued stock market sentiment and withdrawal of foreign capital, forex analysts said. At the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened at 89.02 and then traded at 89.05 against the greenback in initial deals, up 11 paise from its previous closing level. Mumbai, Nov 25 (PTI) Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty declined on Tuesday morning as foreign fund outflows dampened investors’ sentiment. In a highly volatile trade, the 30-share BSE Sensex dropped 124.95 points to 84,775.76 in early trade. The 50-share NSE Nifty declined 35.35 points to 25,924.15. Rupee jumps 50 paise against US dollar

Mumbai, Nov 24 (PTI) The rupee rebounded sharply by 50 paise to settle at 89.16 against the greenback on Monday, due to US dollar selling by banks and importers amid a dip in global crude oil prices. Besides, suspected RBI intervention also supported the domestic currency, forex traders said.
