NewsClick denies illegal funding, propaganda claims

NEW DELHI, Oct 4 (Reuters) – The NewsClick being investigated over alleged illegal funding said on Wednesday it does not publish propaganda and its funding had been received through appropriate banking channels. New Delhi [India], October 4 (ANI): The Delhi High Court on Wednesday was informed by Central Government Lawyers that Delhi mayor Shelly Oberoi has been granted political clearance for travel to Brisbane, Australia to attend the Asia Pacific Cities Summit 2023. The Standing Counsel representing the Centre government informed the bench of Subramonium Prasad that she has been granted permission to travel to Australia to attend the summit. Twenty-three Indian soldiers missing after flash flood

Guwahati, October 04, 2023 (AFP) The Indian army said Wednesday that twenty-three Indian soldiers were missing after a powerful flash flood caused by intense rainfall tore through a remote valley in the mountainous northeast Sikkim state. “Due to sudden cloud burst over Lhonak Lake in North Sikkim, a flash flood occurred in the Teesta River… 23 personnel have been reported missing and some vehicles are reported submerged under the slush,” the army said in a statement. “Search operations are underway.” The remote area lies close to India’s border with Nepal, and Lhonak Lake sits at the base of a glacier
