Oil falls to pre-war levels, no change in petrol and diesel prices

Finance

New Delhi, Jun 25 (PTI) Global oil prices fell on Thursday to their lowest levels since before the outbreak of the Iran conflict, offering a significant economic tailwind for India, the world’s third-largest crude importer, by easing inflation risks, reducing the import bill and improving the government’s fiscal position. DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, June 25, 2026 (AP) — A series of tankers made their way out of the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday despite threats to shipping from Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard, using a new route close to Oman’s shore that has been promoted by a U.N. maritime agency. The development comes as Iran and the United States are increasingly debating the terms of the interim deal signed last week aimed at permanently ending the Iran war — from getting ships through the narrow mouth of the Persian Gulf to the future of Iran’s stockpile of highly enriched uranium.

MUMBAI, June 25 (Reuters) – Three Indian development finance institutions are planning to raise at least $1.5 billion through foreign-currency bank loans under the central bank’s discounted overseas borrowing facility, three people familiar with the plans said.
