Arthritis drug can limit progression of of Type 1 diabetes

Waltham, Massachusetts,( United States), December 7, 2023: A common drug used for rheumatoid arthritis – baricitinib – has shown promising results for patients with type 1 diabetes. A world-first trial, published in The New England Journal of Medicine, showed baricitinib could limit the progression of type 1 diabetes if given during patients’ first 100 days after diagnosis.
