Kendrapara (Odisha), Nov 21 (PTI) A civic body in Odisha has drawn flak for operating a crematorium in which only bodies of Brahmins are cremated. The 155-year-old Kendrapara Municipality, the oldest civic body in the eastern state, has even put up a ‘Brahmin crematorium’ signage at the entrance of the burning ghat at Hazaribagicha locality in the town. Local sources said that although the crematorium was used for performing the last rites of Brahmins for a long time, the official signage was recently put up after the renovation of the facility with government grants. New Delhi, Nov 21 (PTI) Pollution levels in Delhi and its suburbs increased further overnight with the Air Quality Index (AQI) in the capital recorded at 365 at 9 am on Tuesday, according to the Central Pollution Control Board. The city’s AQI stood at 348 at 4 pm on Monday, deteriorating from 301 on Sunday. The 24-hour average AQI, recorded at 4 pm every day, was 319 on Saturday, 405 on Friday and 419 on Thursday. Rescuers release first video of workers trapped inside collapsed Uttarakhand tunnel

Uttarkashi (U’khand), Nov 21 (PTI) Rescuers on Tuesday released the first video of the workers trapped inside the Silkyara tunnel here for 10 days. The visuals were captured using an endoscopic camera sent in through the alternative 6-inch food pipeline. In the video, the workers, wearing yellow and white helmets, are seen receiving food items sent to them through the pipeline and talking to each other. This comes as a big relief to the families of these workers.
