Even low levels of leisure time physical activity can lower stroke risk

Rudrapur, Uttarakhand March 6, 2024: Even people whose physical activity levels fall short of recommended guidelines, but who manage to do some during their leisure time, are likely to have a lower risk of stroke than their sedentary peers, suggests a pooled data analysis of the available evidence, published online in the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery & Psychiatry. While international guidelines recommend 150 minutes or more a week of moderate intensity physical activity or 75 minutes or more of vigorous intensity activity to lower the risk of cardiovascular disease the researchers note that not many adults achieve this. RBI asks banks to allow customers to choose cards from multiple networks

Mumbai, Mar 6 (PTI) RBI has directed banks to provide their eligible customers with an option to choose from multiple card networks at the time of issuing credit or debit cards, a move which will benefit card users. The central bank also asked issuers of credit cards not to enter into any arrangement or agreement with card networks that restrain customers from availing the services of other networks. “On a review, it is observed that some arrangements existing between card networks and card issuers are not conducive to the availability of choice for customers,” the Reserve Bank said in a

New Delhi, Mar 5 (PTI): The income tax department on Tuesday allowed trusts and institutions, which filed audit reports for the assessment year 2023-24 in incorrect forms, to file documents in correct forms by March 31. Income of any fund or institution or trust or any university or other educational institution or any hospital is exempt from income tax subject to fulfilment of certain conditions.
