New Delhi, Jun 24 (PTI) Gold prices on Wednesday dropped Rs 1,853 to Rs 1,44,676 per 10 grams in futures trade amid a fall in spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold contracts for the August delivery traded lower by Rs 1,853, or 1.26 per cent, at Rs 1,44,676 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 1,585 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in yellow metal prices to weak global cues.

Globally, gold futures declined by 0.64 per cent to USD 4,090.94 per ounce in New York.
