Jammu, Sep 20: IPS officer Mukesh Singh, who is working now as Jammu Zone Additional Director General was on Tuesday appointed as the Inspector General of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on deputation basis, the Union Home Ministry said.
Singh has been inducted into the ITBP for five years, according to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Singh, a 1996 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the AGMUT cadre. He took over as the Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, on August 14, 2019 and was promoted to the rank of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) on January 20, 2021.
The Ministry of Home Affairs asked the Jammu and Kashmir administration to relieve Singh immediately to enable him to take up his new assignments at the centre.
