Lucknow, Sep 5: IAS officer Andra Vamsi has been appointed as the new District Magistrate (DM) of Basti. He is a 2011 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, who is currently serving as Mission Director of Skill Development Mission of Uttar Pradesh.
IAS officer Divya Mittal, who was sent to Basti as DM from the post of DM of Mirzapur in UP, has been put on waiting list. However, she was relieved from Mirzapur for getting charge of Basti. During her farewell programme, a large number of People of Mirzapur felt quite emotional and showered upon IAS her with rose petals.
Gorakhpur DM Krishna Karunesh has also been given the additional charge of Gorakhpur Development Authority Vice President.
